I spend most of my free time drawing, taking photographs, and trying out new software for my digital sketches. Although I love drawing on paper, of late I’ve started using my iPad to experiment with different digital brushes - my favourite type of art project right now includes a photograph, digital art and a short backstory. Poetry & Writing
Over the years, I’ve noticed that I go through different kinds of creative phases - sometimes I’m spending a lot of time on art, sometimes I’m writing a lot of poetry. When I was going through one of those poetry phases, I started a Facebook page called better/verse along with a friend, in 2015. We wrote poems and illustrated them, and I’ve performed some of them at poetry slams and open mics in Bangalore and Chicago. One of my favourites is a poem called ‘What Kind Are You?’, about books (click on the Facebook post on the left to read it!). I’ve also had articles featured in Scene+Heard, Northwestern University’s first culture and arts publication (click on the post on the right for a Scene+Heard article about The Art Institute of Chicago’s Thorne Miniature Rooms).
